Makita
has designed its new BO5041K Random Orbit Sander for improved user
comfort and heavier-duty sanding tasks: they've added an adjustable
front handle for two-handed control and included a more powerful
3.0-amp motor. As with the previous model, the new BO5041K is
variable speed, offering 4,000 to 12,000 oscillations per minute. It
creates a 1/8-in. random-orbit action for smooth sanding and a
swirl-free finish. The motor's oversized, sealed ball-bearing
construction should help extend its life. A two-finger trigger switch
and lock-on button should make the tool easier to use for extended
periods.
The
new front handle attaches with a collar around the motor housing, and
it can be swiveled out of the way for sanding into corners and
confined areas. Its top palm grip is rubberized for a sure hold with
your other hand. This tool features a hook-and-loop style 5-in.
sanding pad with through-the-pad dust collection. You can use either
the included on-board dust canister or a built-in vacuum port
adaptor.
The
Makita BO5041 5-in. Random Orbit Sander also comes with abrasive
paper and a tool case. Its street price is $129.99.
