When a project has exposed screwheads, many woodworkers prefer to use brass screws for the sake of appearance. However, brass screws are more expensive than those made from bright steel, and they sometimes are harder to find. In a pinch, apply a couple of coats of orange shellac to the screw heads. You'll be surprised how much like brass they will look.
